The foundation for this web site will be my great grandparents, Willis Hersman and his wife, Lucy Blanche Burgess.

This couple had four sons and no daughters. Since all of these sons are deceased, information will be presented here about each of them, their wives, and their ancestors.

Many of the children of these four sons, (grandchildren of Willis and Lucy Blanche) are still living as of August 2007. For security purposes, not much information will be included about them.

This will be updated and expanded very soon, so be sure to come back often.

Willis Hersman was the second son John Fillmore Hersman and his wife Harriet Swisher. Willis was born in 1874 at Zona, Roane Co., West Virginia, and died in 1936. His wife, Lucy Blanche usually went by the name Blanche. She was the daughter of Wright Baker Burgess and Elizabeth Jane (Eliza Jane) Hughes.

Willis and Blanche had these four sons:

Howard Baker Hersman, born at Flat Fork, Roane Co. West Virginia, October 5, 1897. He was my grandfather, and I got much family information from him in October 1974. He died at Parkersburg, West Virginia, on May 28, 1975.

He married Sarah Jane Hoff, (April 25, 1899 - April 21, 1968), daughter of James Alvin Hoff and Viola Jane McCauley.

Six children were born to them, but one died in infancy.

John Ernest Hersman, born Spencer, WV, February 16, 1904, married Dorothy Ruth Fasnacht

One son and one daughter.

Orus Brown Hersman, born at Leo, WV, August 27, 1906, married Marjorie Blanch Carpenter

Three daughters.

Roy Milton Hersman, born Roane Co., WV October 6, 1909, married Wilma Lea Yoak

Four daughters and 2 sons.
